Effect of Wind Farm Construction on Local Climate

Abstract
I use an event-study and staggered difference-in-differences design to examine how wind-farm construction affects local atmospheric conditions. Preliminary evidence suggests that wind-farm construction may reduce the frequency of thermal inversions, with implications for local climate exposure and for the use of thermal inversions as an instrumental variable in applied research.
